Grungy on and off the bike, Erica is wearing a vintage Harley Davidson leather jacket, found at London’s Portobello Markets, paired with her well worn Dr Martens boots, Dr Denim jeans, Deus Ex Machina gloves and full faced Bell Bullit helmet.

Connie recently changed from riding a Yamaha R6 (super sports bike) to a Harley Davidson Ironhead 883 and found her Dainese gear was no longer suitable for her her new riding position.

Adventurous in life as well as in fashion, Kinga shows us her street style, a departure from her off-road gear as seen in the Petrolette feature. Local start-up label Black Arrow Label (founded by fashion designer and rider Hannah Smith) launched its first product offering last month in Sydney. Like many of us frustrated with the lack of offerings available for women who ride, Hannah put her fashion design skills and entrepreneurial spirit to actually doing something about it.

 Recent Petrolette Tara Henry was encouraged into Dirt by her friends at the Deus Ex Machina in Venice, CA so a lot of her gear and bikes are from within the same crew. Deus and Ornamental Conifer collaborated on this light weight cotton shirt with dirt-track intentions called the OC/D Moto worn over her armour and tucked into her Troy Lee Designs GP Air Pants.

Maybe I've been living in a bubble (okay, highly likely I've been living in a bubble), but I had never thought to look for a leather vest for riding. The association with leather vests and motorcycles, in my mind, is not really high on the fashion stakes. They're usually badass, patched with a hoodie under and sometimes a fringe to boot... but Lindsay has shone a new light on this bit of gear.

Every time I see Hannah out and about I'm always impressed by her co-ordinated and striking silhouette while on her Yamaha SR400 (which she can kick start, first go, every time). Few have the patience and commitment to find beautiful gear that doesn't turn its back on safety, but Hannah has in a way that it totally unique to her.

Why do we perceive that any woman who represents a male dominated community, is simply seen as a hired pacifier rather than an integral part?  After being nicknamed "Snow White" I ask myself who are the seven dwarves I represent and why is there so much judgement targeted at us motorcyclists and Petrolettes?
