BLACK ARROW LABEL LAUNCH: Sydney

Local start-up label Black Arrow Label is founded by fashion designer and rider Hannah Smith (see our feature of her look here) launched its first product offering last month in Sydney. Like many of us frustrated with the lack of offerings available for women who ride, Hannah put her fashion design skills and entrepreneurial spirit to actually doing something about it.
A member of local girl gang The Foxy Fuelers and avid rider, the ladies came out in full force to support the label. The event was held at recently opened local brewery The Wayward Brewing Co. and generally was a low-key event.
Women in attendance were pretty excited to able to talk about motorcycle jackets that they'd happily wear on and off the road. There are leather, waxed canvas and denim options available with kevlar and removable armour built in. The cost is affordable and whether the compromise on price has led to the quality of the material will be ultimately guided by the consumer. Hannah has committed to staying connected to women who chose her products and want their feedback to ensure she continues to improve the labels offerings.
Heleana is a force of nature. The founder of In Venus Veritas and The Petrolette, and a co-founder of Rising Sun Workshop. Heleana shares her love of vintage cars, riding motorcycles, and (not-so-secretly) dreams of flying planes and piloting a riva aquariva (a la Sophia Loren) very fast through the canals of Venice. Supportive and connected, community is her lifeblood, and she is as real as they come.
